Human remains in mass graves were buried without any individualization – Azerbaijan’s Prosecution

“Based on the current condition of the human remains discovered during the inspection of the mass graves, it was determined that they were buried on top of each other without any individualization,” Deputy Head of Department of Criminalistics and Information Technology, Head of the Department of Forensic Science of General Prosecutor's Office - Head of Criminalistics Department Orkhan Rzayev said as response to the inquiry about the violation of the requirements of international law during inspection of discovered mass graves at the briefing for the mass media, APA reports.

Orkhan Rzayev noted that provisions of the Geneva Convention relative to the Protection of Civilian Persons in Time of War and Convention relative to the Treatment of Prisoners of War of August 12, 1949 and Additional Protocol on the protection of victims of international armed conflicts were grossly violated.
