UN urges Israel to overturn Al Jazeera ban

The United Nations Human Rights office took to X on Sunday to comment on the latest decision made by Israel to block Al Jazeera from operating in the country, APA reports.
"A free and independent media is essential to ensuring transparency and accountability. Now, even more so given tight restrictions on reporting from Gaza. Freedom of expression is a key human right. We urge govt to overturn the ban," the office said.
