Belarus holding tactical nuclear drills together with Russia

Belarus's Security Council announced on Tuesday that it will participate in the tactical nuclear weapons drills previously announced by Russia, APA reports citing foreign media.

According to the statement, Belarus will rehearse feeding nuclear warheads to delivery vehicles, as well as test the country's military readiness to operate nuclear warheads from a defensive point of view.

The news comes a day after Russian President Vladimir Putin instructed the General Staff to prepare military drills with the use of tactical nuclear weapons. The ministry declared yesterday that the drills are partially held in response to provocative statements and threats by Western officials.
