Azerbaijani FM meets with his Kazakh counterpart-UPDATED

Jeyhun Bayramov, Azerbaijan’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, met Friday with Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan Murat Nurtleu, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan told APA.

During the meeting, the discussions revolved around the issues related to the current strategic partnership between Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan, the ongoing regional developments during the post-conflict period, as well the current state of the peace process.

The ministers hailed the expansion of high-level relations between Azerbaijan and Central Asian countries, including Kazakhstan in recent years.

They pointed out that apart from bilateral collaboration across economic, trade, investment, energy security, transport and communications, and other domains, cooperation in regional and international platforms, particularly in the Organization of Turkic States (OTS) holds great promise.

Minister Jeyhun Bayramov informed his Kazakh counterpart about the preparations for the 29th Conference of the Parties to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP29) scheduled to take place in Baku this year, describing the conference as a new platform for cooperation.

Highlighting the current situation in the region during the post-conflict period, as well as the relevant opportunities and challenges, FM Bayramov expressed his gratitude to the Kazakh side for its support and active involvement in advancing the Azerbaijan-Armenia peace process. The FMs expressed their confidence that in light of the latest agreement reached between the Delimitation commissions, the current negotiations would contribute to the process.

The meeting also saw exchange of views on other issues of mutual interest.

The parties discussed agenda of bilateral and multilateral cooperation between the two states, perspectives of strategic partnership in various fields such as economy, energy security, investments and communication.
