Azerbaijan is gradually increasing its humanitarian and development assistance, including support provided through the UN Development Program to other countries, UN Resident Coordinator in Baku Vladanka Andreeva said during the event themed "High-Level Strategic Prioritization" held within the UN-Azerbaijan Cooperation Framework Document on Sustainable Development (2026-2030), Olaylar informs.
Andreeva emphasized Azerbaijanchr("39")s strong commitment to multilateral cooperation:
"In recent years, we have witnessed Azerbaijan strengthening its leadership role not only at the national level but also at regional and global levels. As the chair of the COP29 conference, the country is putting forward important initiatives in various multilateral issues, including addressing the climate crisis."
The UN official added that the partnership between Azerbaijan and the UN has evolved over the past three decades and will continue to do so in the future: "Currently, this cooperation focuses on four main areas - reducing vulnerabilities and increasing resilience, building stronger institutions, environmental protection and fighting climate change, promoting inclusive development through empowerment of women and girls," Andreyeva stated.
She noted that the Azerbaijani government is interested in continuing cooperation with the UN and believes this partnership will strengthen further in the future.
