Ukrainian President promises $24,000 to those under the age of mobilization for contract service

Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that young people who have not reached the mobilization age and wish to sign a contract with the Armed Forces of Ukraine will receive $24,000 and other benefits, APA reports citing TASS.

"It seems to me that this is a very good offer for people who want to sign a one-year contract. They can continue if they want, but this is a one-year contract. <…> Some things are that a person will be able to earn one million hryvnias ($24,000 at the exchange rate of the National Bank of Ukraine - TASS note) per year," he said, a video excerpt from his speech was published on the UNIAN agency's Telegram channel. He added that at the end of the contract, young people will be able to choose a university, enroll in it without entrance exams and study at the state's expense. Also, according to him, they will be provided with an interest-free housing mortgage.

Zelenskyy noted that this initiative, on providing the opportunity for young people to sign a contract for military service in the active army, comes "from military commanders, from the Ministry of Defense."
