Demining activities have been carried out in the liberated territories of the Gazakh region since April 2024, Azerbaijan National Agency for Mine Action (ANAMA) told APA.
During the operations, 59 ha of land were cleared, 780 anti-personnel mines, 95 anti-tank mines and 32 unexploded ordnance were discovered and neutralized. The mentioned areas have both difficult relief and high levels of contamination with mines. In these areas, there are cases of mines being buried not as a mine line, but in a group mine format, that is, consisting of 5-6 or more mines.
At the same time, in areas located near those villages, the Agency's representatives are carrying out awareness-raising activities on the Danger of Explosive Ordnance, and educational meetings are held with the population.
