Trials resume for ethnic Armenians charged with war crimes against Azerbaijan

 

A court hearing will be held on the criminal case of persons of Armenian origin accused of war crimes on Thursday.

At the trial held at the Baku Court Complex under the chairmanship of Judge Zeynal Agayev of the Baku Military Court, they are accused of crimes against peace and humanity, war crimes, including aggressive warfare, genocide, forced displacement, persecution, torture, military looting, and other illegal acts committed against Azerbaijan and the Azerbaijani people by the Armenian state and its armed forces, including the former self-proclaimed "Nagorno-Karabakh Republic" established in Azerbaijanchr("39")s occupied territories and its illegal armed formations.

Today, it is expected that the court investigation on their criminal case will be declared open, and the prosecutor will announce the concluding part of the indictment.

The hearing will be held in the criminal case against defendants Arkadi Ghukasyan, Arayik Harutyunyan, Bako Sahakyan, Davit Ishkhanyan, Davit Babayan, Levon Mnatsakanyan, Davit Manukyan, Garik Martirosyan, Melikset Pashayan, Davit Allahverdyan, Gurgen Stepanyan, Levon Balayan, Madat Babayan, Vasili Beglaryan, and Erik Gazaryan.
