As part of the XII Global Baku Forum, a panel discussion on "Geopolitical Shifts: Responsible Partnerships versus Rivalry" was held, APA reports.
Former President of the European Union (EU) Council, Charles Michel, stated that the EU has done its best regarding the crisis in Ukraine.
According to him, the EU can cooperate and build relations with African and Asian countries and the organizations there.
"There are issues related to security, wars, and crises. But we are working to eliminate these problems," Charles Michel emphasized.
The President's Assistant – Head of the Department of Foreign Policy Affairs of the Presidential Administration, Hikmet Hajiyev, highlighted that Azerbaijan has always been a supporter of multilateral diplomacy.
He noted that strengthening relations with Central Asia is one of the priority issues in Azerbaijan's foreign policy.
Former President of Latvia and Co-Chair of the Nizami Ganjavi International Center, Vaira Vike-Freiberga, stated that during the Soviet Union era, the territorial integrity, independence, and the right of these countries in this region to determine their own destiny were very limited.
Former Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu spoke about the new reality in Syria: “A new era has begun in Syria, and I am optimistic. We are working to assist in Syria's reconstruction and ensure that the efforts of the transitional government do not fail.”
