The World Bank has helped modernize key sectors such as energy, agriculture, transport, and healthcare in Azerbaijan through more than 50 investment projects over the years, Shahmar Movsumov, Assistant to the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan - Head of the Department of Economic Issues and Innovative Development Policy of the Presidential Administration of the Republic of Azerbaijan, said during the presentation of the World Bank's annual global report, APA-Economics reports.
He noted that this not only strengthened Azerbaijan's economy but also improved the quality of life.
"The World Bank's expertise has helped improve the business environment, attract investments, expand critical infrastructure including roads and irrigation systems, promote digital transformation, and enhance Azerbaijan's competitiveness, as well as support climate resilience and green energy solutions. Looking ahead, the World Bank remains a key partner in strengthening institutions, fostering innovation, and ensuring inclusive growth," Shahmar Movsumov added.
