Since the commissioning of the Azeri-Chirag-Gunashli (ACG) and Shah Deniz fields until January 1, 2025, located in the Azerbaijani sector of the Caspian Sea, a total of 650,2 million tons of oil (including condensate) and 466,5 billion cubic meters of gas were produced, the Ministry of Energy of Azerbaijan told APA-Economics.
During the reporting period, 601.5 million tons of oil and 229.7 billion cubic meters of gas were extracted from ACG, while approximately 48.7 million tons of condensate and 236.8 billion cubic meters of gas were produced from Shah Deniz.
"As of January 1, 2025, a total of 648.3 million tons of oil and 169.5 billion cubic meters of gas have been transported for export from these fields," the Ministry noted.
It is noted that in the previous year, 29.1 million tons of oil (including condensate) were produced in the Republic of Azerbaijan. Of this, 16.8 million tons were attributed to Azeri-Chirag-Gunashli (ACG), 4.2 million tons (condensate) to Shah Deniz, and 0.6 million tons (condensate) to the Absheron field. Oil production (including condensate) by SOCAR amounted to 7.5 million tons.
"In 2024, 50.3 billion cubic meters of natural gas were produced in Azerbaijan. Of this volume, 13.3 billion cubic meters were from ACG, 27.8 billion cubic meters from Shah Deniz, 1.5 billion cubic meters from the Absheron field, and 7.7 billion cubic meters were produced by SOCAR. Compared to the corresponding period in 2023, gas production was carried out with an increase of 2 billion cubic meters," the Ministry stated.
