Level of gas storage capacity in EU drops below 55%

The capacity rate of gas storage facilities in the European Union countries has dropped below 55%, APA-Economics reports, citing Gas Infrastructure Europe (GIE).

According to the information, the capacity rate of gas storage facilities in the European Union countries is 54.65%, which is 6.91% percentage points lower than the average for this date in the past five years.

It was noted that EU countries have released approximately 48 billion cubic meters of gas from underground storage facilities since the start of the heating season. The heating season in Europe began on October 29, 2024

Currently, the total volume of gas in storage facilities is around 60.7 billion cubic meters.

It should be noted that the transportation of Azerbaijani gas to Europe through the Trans-Adriatic Pipeline (TAP) began on December 31, 2020.
